It was a dark and stormy month in North West Ohio, it had rained nearly every day for over two weeks. The early birds started pouring into Wauseon Sunday and found a very soggy fairgrounds. It continued raining on and off with major rain on Tuesday night and Wednesday. I didn't pull in till Tuesday morning and a fair number of members were already coping with the soft ground and changing some of their normal routine. I started snapping a few pictures on Wednesday but fewer than normal numbers of Crosleys were visible. Lots of closed trailers but I did manage to find a few brave soles that exposed their prides and joys, some only a little.

What I don't remember seeing in 1998 was the one and only Vitameter installed on a Crosley. Here you see the Vitane tank. |
Here is a close up of the Vitameter installation with the adapter that goes under the carburetor. It was standard on the 10:1 compression Quicksilver engines. This installation is a little different than the picture that was published in the press. |

Paul didn't disappoint either. He has been keeping a secret that a few years ago he found the rear section of the Mosquito Staff car that Crosley made in the hopes of getting a government contract. |
As best we can verify only one was made. Other than the unique back for hauling two officers with storage under the seat, the Mosquito is basically a standard Convertible Crosley that Paul could recreate. |
One of many Crosleys that were hiding under cover. |
